Routines, routines, routines

My sweet, little family has again settled into this new 'spring semester' routine, and we are making some headway! I'll let you in on some of our progress. . . .

-Jon Thomas finished the kindergarten curriculum and we've moved onto a first grade curriculum. Mainly we are trying to get ahead because the next 'school year' (read - Aug. 09 - May '10) is going to be INSANELY hectic. We probably won't live in the same place for more than two months at a time beginning in August of this year for a while. JT is doing great handling the work! He loves the new science stuff we are doing!

-There is beginning to be a small dot of light at the end of this tunnel called grad school! Jonathan is taking less hours this semester, and we are all very happy about it! Once we finish this semester, he will take a summer workshop and an online course and BE DONE with our requirements.

-WE FINISHED all our writing and now have an in-depth interview to face! We are really getting excited because after March 13th, we will be able to RESERVE A JOB! Wow! So exciting!

-Charlie is still enjoying his new pet and is learning lots! He LOVES to build and play with blocks and trains! He is a funny guy and is always making us laugh - even when he doesn't mean to! He has a huge crush on a girl named Anne Marie (she's 12). He has an appointment with the ENT next Tues to check the tubes and his hearing!

-We have decided to flee the premises for Mardi Gras weekend and escape to Mississippi. Yes, I realize Mardi Gras is fun. Yes, I realize there are parades geared towards families. Big crowds of people - not my cup o' tea. Fighting for plastic beaded jewelry in purple, green and gold - not fun to me!

-Although we NEVER thought we would be - we have turned into a video game playing family. JT got Lego Batman for Christmas, and the boys in my family play together almost every day! I kind of like it because it gives me some alone time after dinner!
