Beach in Thailand

After our arrival in Bangkok, we decided to take a few days of vacation and head on down to the beach! It was SO. MUCH. FUN. We went during the week and this is considered the off season, so Jonathan was able to book us into a FANTASTIC resort place for two nights. BUT, we arrived at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning and they LET US CHECK IN! Unheard of. And then on the last day, they let us check out and leave at 3:00 p.m. So we basically got three full days of beach and resort fun!
The second day, it was overcast and cloudy all day - PERFECT BEACH WEATHER. We stayed on the beach all morning finding shells, checking out tide pools, building sand castles and playing in the water.
The fishing boats came in and out to fish with the tide.
Awesome octopus sand castle covered in shells. Do you see all those shells? Do you see all those sand dollars? I love finding sand dollars on the beach. I think God puts them there just to let me know that he loves me. Oh yeah, I was feeling the love! I can't remember what really awesome and calm parenting tactic we used to get the boys to leave some of the shells on the beach, but when we got home, we have a great collection with a grand total of 97 shells, which are now neatly displayed on a shelf.

Then there was a building on the resort with a kids hangout. There were arts and crafts every day, movies all day long, huge blocks you could build real structures with and a ball pit/play area.
We walked into our room, which had an awesome view of the resort grounds and beach. The first thing out of Charlie's mouth was, 'Look, a TV - does it have cable?' Poor kid.

The pool was also fantastic as was the daily 3:30 run to 7-11 for slurpees! I love the beach!
