Patience is a Virtue. . . .

As of today, we are still in Mississippi unable to return to our home in New Orleans. From what we have been told, there was no flood damage or wind damage; however, the damage to the electrical and water systems is the problem. Basic services in the city are minimal at best, and we cannot return to our housing until electricity is restored. Today marks a week since our evacuation, and we are ready to return to our home. Not to mention that my mother is probably ready for that too! :) There is hope that the electricity will be restored by Monday!

We feel VERY blessed there was no damage to our apartment as we could not get any renter's insurance before we left due to a 30 day waiting period as well as the storm itself preventing companies from issuing policies. Our apartment is on the first floor, and we were REALLY concerned that flooding would be a problem as the campus tends to flood a lot.

Thanks for your calls, emails and notes! They always seem to come at just the right time!

I'm sure your mom has loved having you visit. I'm glad you didn't have any damage. We are still praying everything goes well. Let us know if there's anything we can do for you.
